What to Expect
Your initial appointment is usually longer than subsequent sessions, up to 1.5 hours and before starting any treatment we can spend some time discussing the issue(s) that are troubling you as well as taking details of your general state of health and lifestyle, all of which help to form a diagnosis. Subsequent treatments are shorter, about 45 minutes to an hour although there will always be time set aside to discuss how you are and your progress.
Acupuncture needles are very fine and any sensation you may feel will be momentary and can range from a tingle to a dull ache. The needles are inserted at very specific points on the body, sometimes being left in for a short time whilst others may be inserted and immediately withdrawn.
It is difficult to say how many sessions would be needed as each person’s response will be different. As a very rough guide there should be some notable improvement in your condition in 4-6 sessions.
“Over the last 15 years of headship I have regularly received acupuncture from Stephen. I credit him with helping me build my resilience and maintain positive well being throughout that time. I’m not sure I could have continued managing the stress levels that headship brings, so effectively without Stephens help. I’m not sure how it works but I do know that it is very much a treatment that is very subtly effective. Thank you Stephen.”
